Without blocking the chases underneath your insulation, your attic connected to your living space causes uneven temperatures in that adjacent room.
This is one way we protect your hallway! This particular attic entry was in the middle of 3 bedrooms and the family bathroom... imagine how hot this area was at noon in August! Well now it is as cool as the rest of the home...
When treating your home as a system, we need to air seal, draft block, and insulate. With a blower door test, and safety tests we ensure you get the safest and best job done in our area!
This Pueblo home is now the envy of the neighborhood! When we arrived to do the job, we found old fiberglass batts, old blown in fiberglass, and no air sealing. We began the job with air sealing the attic flat. Once we disconnected the attic from the living space, we added baffle vents to the soffit eaves, these vents allow air flow across the roof deck. They also stop insulation from touching the roof deck. We added over 10 inches of cellulose insulation over top of the existing insulation. The final measure was done by adding an insulated and air sealed cover to the attic pull down ladder (before we arrived all that was insulating this large void was the 1/4 inch plywood).
